Five Prayers
Home. 2010.
I had the one candle on the right, and then we stopped at ...Safeway? or maybe something like Food Plus, on the way up to camp, and I found matching candles for about $2.50 each, so I bought four. And now I have my own little shrine, at the end of my bathtub/shower. The steamy air from the shower whips the flames around, making the light dance in different directions.

Shadows Against House
Home. 2009.
The calla lilies grow right at the foot of my front steps. I've always wanted to take more night photography. Now to get my hands on a tripod...

Red Curb
San Francisco. 2008.
I took this on a meandering hike through the hills of San Francisco. It was the summer after grad school, I was without a job, and graduation was recent enough that I was glad to be unemployed and free to wander and have stretches of unscheduled time--and wasn't yet stressed about being jobless.
A friend and I walked up hills so steep there were stairs for sidewalks (and even these had to snake back and forth). It was hot, we got sweaty, I loved it.

Nature's Patterns
Zion. 2009.
The hike up to Angel's Landing. Winter-naked branches silhouetted against slanting rock.

Glancing Left
Seattle (duh). 2006.
I want to go back here. I want to breath sharp clear air in, to always be on the water, to find out just how much it really rains, to look at all the different houses, to hike and play in the snow. I want to have a clear, obvious center to the city, one that everyone ignores; a place to always turn my head towards, down streets and between buildings, always looking for that point.

Projects and Plants
Home. March 8, 2010.
I bought this pink silk slip at an estate sale for five dollars. It has a few small tears, and needs to be repaired. It's hanging in what has become my project corner, next to the drawers filled with arts and crafts, picture frames, yarn, wire, glue, cut out pictures, negatives, multiple sewing kits, and a fire alarm lever that I truly believe I will one day wire to a cool light display.
