Night Lights

Love how the light from the house's side windows is reflecting off of the other house, and the tree's shadow there. Love the stark white light against the dark brown shingle contrasting with the warm yellow on the far wall. Love the deep teal trim.

And the small green plant in the window.

This is about four houses down from me.

I love the refreshing clash of the burnt red and turquoise and cream with a touch of yellow, the sharp dark plant against the pastel wall. i love how the trees in the window are keeping the little bush company. i like the two steps, to the left.

Wires Again

Have I mentioned that I like wires? Their tangle and weave? The way they divide the sky into fractions and parcels and vast swaths of blue, peach, lavender, orange, seashell pink?

I do. I like the connectedness they state, the interdependency; I even, on occasion, like the buzz that falls down from their tight perches.

But I also think they're ugly and should be put underground, at least within cities. They are a remnant of loosely structured municipalities and unincorporated land, of a time that doesn't exist anymore, at least not here. We don't have room to be unorganized anymore.
